Rohit Khilnani: Tell us something about your new movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Shah Rukh Khan: Yasrajji and Adi (Aditya) called me and they said that they were postponing the release of the first look of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi all over the county and wanted it to do it on my birthday. Well, I always try to make a good films. I try to make a good sense of entertainment for the audience. This movie is special because Aditya is making it after a long time. It is also special because the film is an antithesis of the egos that I am playing. It is not someone that you want to be. A character in a film is someone that you are.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi not just a Simple Love Story?

All the speculation that Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi being a clean, simple and fresh love story may not turn out to be true. According to sources in the industry, Rab ne Bana Di Jodi could be a more complex love story than what was initially rumoured. With Anant Narayan now rumored to be the third important character in Rab ne bana di jodi, the story could be a Love Triangle.
Yash Raj Films has always stuck to this super hit formula all these years producing numerous hits with love triangles. Movies like Silsila, Darr, Dil to Pagal Hai etc are just a few of the many. The basic formula could be the same, but Yash Raj treats every story differently in every movie for sure. It would be interesting to see how Rab ne bana di jodi would shape up in the new era of thriller movies.

Salman-SRK-Ganesha connection
Now, here’s something I bet you wouldn’t know. Salman Khan actually celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi each year. A friend tells me that Sallu brings a Ganesha idol every year and for the two days that it is installed in his house, he doesn’t smoke, drink or party.
Of course, like each year, this year too he has no plans of breaking the tradition. So even as his sister and other folks go shopping for flowers to decorate the whole house, Sallu insists on being at home ensuring that all his friends are well taken care of.
Here comes the most interesting part. A few years ago, when the Khan-daan bonding was at its all-time high, Shah Rukh Khan too made his way to Sallu’s house to pay respects. The two stars spent considerable time together before Shah Rukh headed back home.
Wonder what will happen to the bonding over the Elephant Demi-God this year…
